Women & Girls Alberta exists because someone has to do this work — and no government, corporation, or institution is going to do it for us. We are a volunteer-run, independently funded organization with no political affiliation and no outside backing. Everything we build, document, and fight for is sustained entirely by women and men who believe that sex-based rights are worth defending.
We chose GiveSendGo because we needed a platform that would not bow to political pressure. We built this database because the truth needs to be documented. We created this whistleblower platform because women deserve a safe place to speak. None of it runs without support.

About Your Donation
Is my donation tax deductible?
Women & Girls Alberta is a non-profit organization but is not a registered charity with the Canada Revenue Agency. This means we are unable to issue official tax receipts for donations. Your contribution supports our work directly but cannot be claimed as a charitable deduction on your Canadian tax return.
How will my donation be used?
Women & Girls Alberta is entirely volunteer-run and receives no government funding or corporate sponsorship. Donations fund our Charter challenge legal costs, website and platform infrastructure, research and documentation work, public education materials, and outreach to women across Alberta. Every dollar goes directly to the work.
Can I donate anonymously?
Yes. GiveSendGo allows you to make your donation anonymous so that your name will not appear publicly on the campaign page. Your contact information is still required to process the transaction securely, but it will not be displayed to the public.
Can I set up a recurring donation?
Yes. GiveSendGo offers the option to set up a recurring monthly donation at checkout. Recurring donations are especially valuable to a volunteer organization like ours because they allow us to plan and sustain ongoing work rather than relying solely on one-time contributions.
Will my name appear publicly?
Only if you choose to allow it. GiveSendGo gives you the option to display your name and donation publicly on the campaign page, or to donate anonymously. You are in full control of this setting at the time of donation.
What if I want to make a larger contribution or discuss other ways to support the organization?
Please contact us directly through our contact page. We welcome conversations with donors who want to discuss larger contributions, in-kind support, or other forms of partnership that advance women's sex-based rights in Alberta.

Why do you use GiveSendGo instead of GoFundMe?
In 2022, GoFundMe froze and seized millions of dollars raised by Canadian donors for the Freedom Convoy — a legal protest — and announced it would redirect those funds without donor consent. That decision demonstrated that GoFundMe is willing to intervene in campaigns based on political pressure rather than legal violation. Women's sex-based rights advocacy is a target of exactly that kind of pressure. GiveSendGo has consistently refused to deplatform campaigns based on political objections and has a strong record of protecting causes that mainstream platforms have silenced. We chose a platform we can trust to stay up.
Is GiveSendGo secure?
Yes. GiveSendGo uses industry-standard SSL encryption to protect all transactions. Your payment information is processed securely and is never stored on our end. GiveSendGo is a registered and legitimate fundraising platform used by thousands of organizations across North America.
Does GiveSendGo take a fee from my donation?
GiveSendGo does not charge a mandatory platform fee — unlike many other fundraising platforms. At checkout you will be given the option to leave a voluntary tip to support GiveSendGo's operations. That tip is separate from your donation to Women & Girls Alberta. If you want your full donation to reach us, you can set the tip to zero.
Can I donate from outside Canada?
Yes. GiveSendGo accepts donations from international donors. All major credit cards and PayPal are accepted. Donations are processed in the currency of your choice and converted at the current exchange rate.
Is there a minimum donation amount?
No. Every contribution, regardless of size, helps us sustain our research, advocacy, and legal work for Alberta women and girls.
