Who We Are

Who We Are

We’re a non-partisan group of Alberta women who care deeply about protecting the rights of Alberta women and girls to access female only services and spaces.

Our goal is to restore women and girl’s sex-based human rights and protections in law and society.

As a registered non-profit in Alberta, we’re working to bring attention to these important issues through education, research, public engagement, and support for good policy making.

We want Alberta women and girls to feel safe speaking up about issues that impact our safety, privacy, dignity and fair treatment—and to be heard when they do.

Why We Speak Out

Why We Speak Out

Women’s human rights are enshrined in various international and national laws on the basis of sex, not gender expression or gender identity.

Canada’s Bill C-16 unintentionally undermined women's legal protections

Gender and sex are conflated, with no definitional consensus, resulting in an unprecedented conflict in human rights, erasing women as a sex class and destabilizing society.

Gender identity laws have sidelined our sex-based human rights and created a discriminatory environment for women and girls.

This discrimination includes lesbians, as well as gay men and boys, who are same-sex attracted. Our mandate highlights the dual discrimination faced by lesbians.

Women and girls are self-excluding and self-censoring where conflicts arise, and this has impacted society negatively.

What We Stand For

What We Stand For

As a member of a pluralistic, democratic society, we are a grassroots women-led organization

We unapologetically center the sex-based human rights of women and girls in our advocacy

Speaking up for women's safety, privacy, and dignity is not hate

Sex is binary. Everyone has a birth sex

Our voice is valid, supported by public viewpoint and is much needed at this moment in history
