Whistle Blower Platform

Speaking up about women's safety, privacy, fairness, and dignity is not extreme and it is not hate. This platform was created so women and girls can share their real experiences and concerns openly and honestly.

No pressure. Just a clear path forward.

Tell your story in your own words…

We are collecting accounts from women and girls in Alberta who have been affected by policies or situations involving males accessing female spaces, services, sports, or opportunities — or where rules based on gender identity have affected women’s privacy, safety, fairness, dignity, or participation.

If men and boys are in your single sex spaces, changing rooms, women's swims, bathrooms, saunas, prisons, shelters and/ or sports, we want to hear about it.

We are also collecting stories from women and girls who feel they no longer have the language to objectively speak about their experiences as a woman or to advocate for themselves and other women as a sex class of people.

  • Are you a woman that does not have or believe in the concept of a gender identity?

  • Who rejects the idea of woman as a social role that men can opt into and out of?

  • A woman that feels that the term "cis woman" is used to "other" women in their own sex class?

  • Who rejects language requirements that force women and children to use sex based pro-nouns that contradict the sex of the person in front of them?

If you are facing this in your work place, school or community, tell us about it.

Women and girls from the rest of Canada are also invited to submit.

We ask people to describe situations, policies, or incidents as clearly and truthfully as possible. Please focus on what happened, what you saw, and how it affected you. This platform is not about attacking individuals. It is about understanding what women and girls are experiencing in everyday life across Alberta.

You do not need to use perfect grammar, legal language, or formal writing. Plain language is completely fine.

Many women feel ignored, pressured to stay quiet, or afraid they will be mocked or dismissed for speaking up. This platform exists because those experiences matter.

Women should be able to talk about privacy, safety, fairness, opportunities, and boundaries without being shamed for it.

Your experiences and observations help create a clearer picture of what is happening and help support informed discussion, better policies, and meaningful action.

About Your Submission

What kinds of experiences should I report?

We want to hear from women who have experienced or witnessed policy failures related to sex-based rights in Alberta — including incidents in prisons, hospitals, shelters, schools, workplaces, sports, or government programs. You do not need to have experienced a crime. Policy failures, institutional betrayal, coercion, and safety concerns are all within scope.

Can I submit documents, photos, or files?

Yes. The platform allows you to attach files including documents, screenshots, photographs, and records. All attachments are encrypted alongside your submission. Do not include files that could identify you unless you intend to do so.

What happens after I submit?

Our team reviews all submissions carefully. We may use your information to document patterns, support advocacy and legal work, or — with your explicit consent — connect your experience with journalists or legal partners. We will never act on your submission in a way that could identify you without your permission.

I am a government employee or healthcare worker. Is it safe for me to submit?

We understand that many women in professional roles feel they cannot speak openly for fear of losing their jobs or facing professional discipline. The platform is designed specifically for people in this situation. Use the Tor Browser, submit from a personal device on a personal network, and do not include any information that identifies you. Your professional observations are valuable — and we want to hear them safely.

Will my story be published on the website?

Not without your consent. If we believe your experience would be valuable to share publicly — as part of our advocacy, legal work, or public documentation — we will ask you directly through the platform. You always retain control over whether and how your story is used.

What if I submitted something by mistake or want to add more information?

Use the receipt code provided at the end of your submission to return to your report. From there you can add information, upload additional files, or communicate with our team — all without revealing your identity.

About Globaleaks

Is my submission anonymous?

Yes. Our whistleblower platform is built on GlobaLeaks, an open-source system designed specifically for anonymous reporting. We do not collect your name, email address, or any identifying information unless you choose to provide it. You are in control of what you share.

Can anyone trace my submission back to me?

GlobaLeaks is engineered to prevent identification. We strongly recommend accessing the platform through the Tor Browser, which encrypts your connection and prevents your IP address from being logged. If you are concerned about traceability — particularly if you are a government employee, healthcare worker, or corrections staff member — use Tor and avoid submitting from a work device or network.

Who sees what I submit?

Only designated members of the Women & Girls Alberta team with explicit access credentials can view submissions. Reports are encrypted end-to-end and are not visible to third parties, government agencies, or the public. We will never share your submission without your explicit consent.

Is this platform affiliated with the government or law enforcement?

No. Women & Girls Alberta is an independent, volunteer-run advocacy organization. We have no affiliation with any government body, law enforcement agency, or political party. We do not share submissions with any of these bodies unless required by law — and we will notify you to the extent permitted if such a requirement arises.

Can I submit from my phone?

Yes, but with caution. If you are concerned about anonymity, avoid submitting from your regular mobile browser, as mobile devices can be more easily linked to your identity. Download the Tor Browser for Android or iOS and submit through that. Avoid submitting on a work phone or a device connected to a workplace network.

Do I need to create an account or log in?

No account or login is required. You submit through the platform directly. GlobaLeaks will generate a unique receipt code after you submit — save this code securely, as it allows you to return to check for follow-up questions from our team without revealing your identity.
