Sarah Magnan is a Calgary-based web designer and IT contractor whose technical work has been in service of civic advocacy organizations across Canada for several years. As the owner of MTN Alberta, she specializes in web development, digital security, and online privacy — bringing a particular focus to helping women's organizations build infrastructure that is secure, sovereign, and fit for purpose.

Sarah came to sex-based rights advocacy through her own lived experience as a woman and a lesbian, recognizing that the erosion of sex-based protections is not an abstract policy debate but a matter of daily reality for women like her. She understands firsthand the digital risks facing advocates and organizations in this space, and brings that awareness to every project she takes on — from website architecture to secure reporting tools.

As a woman who has spent her career in a male-dominated industry, Sarah's advocacy is grounded in lived experience as much as technical expertise. She is proud to lend her skills to For Women and Girls Alberta, and to stand alongside the women building this organization from the ground up.
