Women Are Real Canada is a non-partisan, volunteer-run group of Canadians who believe the material reality of sex continues to matter in the daily lives of women and girls. Launched in December 2024 and inspired by the California-based womenarereal.org (with permission), the organization addresses the Canadian policy and legislative context. It is operated pseudonymously, reflecting the documented risks of harassment faced by women who speak publicly on sex-based rights in Canada.

The organization documents the concrete consequences of replacing biological sex with gender self-identification in Canadian law and public policy, organized across several areas: prisons and jails, sport, same-sex attraction, language, and rape and domestic violence shelters. Women Are Real Canada takes a civil-discourse approach, explicitly supporting rights for gender non-conforming individuals while opposing the replacement of sex-based protections with identity-based ones.

Women Are Real Canada maintains a publicly accessible, evidence-based database of men in Canada who have claimed a female or non-binary gender identity and been charged or convicted of crimes, or housed in female correctional facilities. The database draws on Correctional Service Canada records, court documents, news reports, and personal connections with formerly incarcerated women. It has become a reference resource for advocates, journalists, and researchers tracking the effects of Canada's gender-diverse offender policy, and was highlighted at caWsbar's 2026 Reality Based Women Unite conference in Montreal.
